Cherub Choir to sing Sunday, Oct. 11th

We are all looking forward to hearing our first and second graders sing at our 10:00 am service on Oct. 11th. Meet in your classrooms at 9:50 am and don't forget to wear your green Abiding Savior polo shirts. We sing at the beginning of the service and then go and sit with your parents, so don't be late!

I would like to apologize that I cannot copy and paste the singing schedule for all the groups and classes, so here is an update for the fall:

Oct. 4th--Third Grade sings at the 10:00 am service.

Oct. 11--Cherub Choir (grades 1 and 2) sing at the 10:00 am service.

Oct. 18--Kids of the Kingdom sing at the 10:00 am service.

Nov. 1--Pre-K and Kinders sing at the 10:00 am service.

Nov. 8--Kids of the Kingdom sing at the 7:50 am service.

Dec. 10--4-5 Christmas service 7:00 pm

Dec. 13--Abiding Savior Lutheran Church annual Christmas Concert at 3:00 and 7:00 pm
This involves Cherub Choir, Kids of the Kingdom, and Bells for Jesus

Dec. 17--1-3 Christmas program 7:00 pm

Dec. 18--Pre K and Kinder Christmas program 10:30 am

Please note that the Bells for Jesus will be notified separately when they will play.
We are just beginning and when we are ready to play a piece, I will let you know.

Fourth and Fifth Graders Sing

Sunday, September 20th there were nearly 30 students who came to sing "The Lamb" for the 10:00 am service. They really sounded great and many people commented on how well they did. Thanks, parents for bringing them and thanks to the students who sang! Wonderful job!

Bells for Jesus tryouts!
Students in grades 4-8 are invited to be a part of our handbell group, Bells for Jesus.
We rehearse on Thursdays after school in the music room from 3:15-4:00 pm. We play
in church about once a month. Try-outs for Bells for Jesus are easy and take about 10 minutes.
They will be held in the music room Thursday, September 3 from 3:15-4:15 pm and on Sunday, September 6 from 9:00-10:00 am . Our first rehearsal will be on Thursday, September 10 from 3:15-4:00 in the music room. Please contact Mrs. Rogers at 830-1460 x 207 with any questions.

Kids of the Kingdom Choir to begin!
This choir is open to all students in grades 3-8. We rehearse in the music room on Tuesdays after school from 3:15-4:15 pm. There are no tryouts, only a sincere desire to praise the Lord with song and improve your music skills! We sing about once a month in church and participate in a huge festival in March and any big concerts here at church. Look for registration papers in the Monday note or come to our first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 8th to get signed up!
Mrs. Rogers can answer any of your questions.

Chapel Band
Chapel Band is open to students in grades 6-8. Whatever your musical talent, we try to put it to good use to help lead chapel services at school on Wednesday mornings. We need singers, instrumentalists, and sound people. If you would like to participate, be ready to get here early on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 am (ouch!) to set up and learn the songs. Mrs. Rogers will be your director. We will begin on September 9th bright and early at 7:30 am. Bring you Starbucks! PS--Dr. Sims loves seeing you up there!

Cherub Choir
All first and second graders will automatically be a part of the Cherub Choir this year. I'm sure we can sing some great songs with all those singers. We will meet on Thursdays during the school day from 1:35-2:05. We will sing in church about once and month and in the Abiding Savior Church concerts. Mrs. Rogers or your teachers can help you with any questions.
